Perfect Pears: Delicious & Juicy Pear Recipes for Fall
Pears are in season September through winter, and offer a sweet, juicy addition to our favorite fall recipes. A little milder than apples, and sweeter than pumpkin, we love throwing pears into our Thanksgiving side dishes, salads, dessert pies and even fall sangrias.
Here are 2 of my favourite pear recipes to help get you started this Thanksgiving weekend!
PEAR & BLUE CHEESE ROASTED BRUSSELS SPROUTS
Even if you’re not the biggest fan of Brussels sprouts, you have to give this recipe a try. The tangy flavor combo of the Ingredients sweet pears and rich blue cheese will make for a side dish no one will forget.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lb halved fresh brussels sprouts
- Pinch of salt and pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles
- 2 pears, sliced and chopped

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add brussels sprouts and season with salt and pepper to taste. Without stirring, cook covered for about 7 minutes.
Uncover and add walnuts and pears, stirring to reveal the carmelized brussels sprouts. Continue cooking for about 3 more minutes.
Take off of heat and add blue cheese crumbles. Serve warm.
Serves: 4
PERFECT PEAR CHAMPAGNE COCKTAIL
Any celebration calls for a signature cocktail and Thanksgiving is the perfect occasion to greet your guests with a welcome drink to set the mood for your evening. Try adding some pear puree to cold champagne for a fruity, fizzy drink.
Ingredients
Pear Nectar
Chilled dry Champagne, Prosecco, or Sparkling wine
Directions
Pour the pear nectar into a champagne flute about 1 to 2 inches deep.
Fill the rest of the glass with champagne.
You can garnish with a thin pear slice!
