Perfect Pears: Delicious & Juicy Pear Recipes for Fall

October 08, 2015

Pears are perfectly ripe in the fall, and are delicious in everything from salads to desserts to cocktails. While apples and pumpkin spice usually dominate the season, we're celebrating all things pear this autumn.

Pears are in season September through winter, and offer a sweet, juicy addition to our favorite fall recipes. A little milder than apples, and sweeter than pumpkin, we love throwing pears into our Thanksgiving side dishes, salads, dessert pies and even fall sangrias.

Here are 2 of my favourite pear recipes to help get you started this Thanksgiving weekend!

PEAR & BLUE CHEESE ROASTED BRUSSELS SPROUTS

Even if you’re not the biggest fan of Brussels sprouts, you have to give this recipe a try. The tangy flavor combo of the Ingredients sweet pears and rich blue cheese will make for a side dish no one will forget.

  • 1 lb halved fresh brussels sprouts
  • Pinch of salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup blue cheese crumbles
