Holiday Cranberry Rosemary Punch
As a caterer, I'm asked everything from what to put on an invitation to how to rearrange furniture for better party flow. One of the more common questions is what sort of beverages to offer guests. My response: This Cranberry Rosemary Punch.
For home parties, most people are offering beer, wine and soft drinks instead of a full bar. This helps to cut down on the type of glasses needed, mix, garnishes and often the bar can be set up as self serve instead of paying for a bartender (although we offer this service as well and it certainly helps in large events to keep portion control, cleanliness and orderliness to the bar!). For self serve holiday bar setups I always add a non-alcohol punch option. It's a nice touch for those who are not drinking alcohol to show them you have thought of them as well! Usually I add a bottle (or 2) of sparkling wine next to it so guests can opt to add a bit of bubbly, making it a versatile addition for family gatherings where there will be young and old!
This Holiday Cranberry Rosemary Punch is my go-to for the season.
4 cups (1 Litre) Cranberry Juice
2 cups (500ml) Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice
1 cup frozen cranberries
4-5 sprigs of fresh rosemary + more for garnish if desired
Ice
In a large pitcher or dispenser mix together all ingredients except ice. Let infuse in the refrigerator at least 4 hours or overnight.
When ready to serve, add ice. Place sparkling wine and/or sparkling water next to the pitcher for guests to add as their choice.
Set out a bowl of frozen cranberries and rosemary sprigs for garnish.
Makes 6 cups + more if using sparkling additions.
